2 out of 5 stars Lackluster short story   August 29, 2010

This was not very good. If you are looking for erotica this isn't it. Story is very short and not very fulfilling.I wouldn't recommend this.

3 out of 5 stars It's cute but not hot   August 19, 2010

It was a cute concept for a story. I liked that fact that one of the women married him but where was the details on these unforgettable vacations?? That's where this story could have been better!

4 out of 5 stars A story or a sample?   August 16, 2010

I downloaded this thinking it was a sample of a story but after reading it it seems it's a short story. It was a fun modern story in London.

3 out of 5 stars Interesting concept, but tedious and not a page turner   August 9, 2010

I wanted to try the free e-book to see if I like the author's writing--and would gladly buy her books if I had. First of all, I find the title and eye-catching cover misleading. It looks a bit like an erotic, vampiresque secret meeting, but in fact, it's nothing of the sort. No seductive women and no graphic/erotic writing, which I don't like to read.

In fact, the women in the story are mostly married--one with a small child in tow--and meet in a public area. They are all there to meet this one man from their past. And an interesting meeting it should be with his past women in the same place!

I love the premise, but I found the dialogue tedious and not that interesting:

1. Where's the real conflict?
2. Why are all these women so drawn to meet a man from years ago?
3. What was he like to keep them mentally on the string all these years?

The ladies don't talk about their experiences with "him." It would have been more interesting to know the protagonist's real identity earlier and create a dialogue that makes the other women suspicious or jealous (as they would be in real life).

At the end, the story shifts abruptly to reveal the "surprise" ending, which by then wasn't a total surprise. Overall a bit disappointing.

I liked the idea of a short story you can read in 30+ minutes that's engaging and thought-provoking, but I didn't find it here.

I agree with the other two reviews. It was a cute short, clean story. I only wish it was a little longer. I didn't get to finish my exercise bike workout. It took less than 30 minutes to read. I rated it 4 stars because I guessed the twist at the end of the story. But if you want a quick, very quick read, read this sample.
